I find it really hard to enjoy a movie that has no car chases, nothing explodes and not a zombie is in sight, but this movie kicked ass. Okay so it's from the director of Trainspotting which was a movie/book that I was addicted to back in my college days. I knew nothing about this movie except that NPR recommended it, I honestly thought that it had something to do with crack headed drug dealers. I thoroughly enjoyed this film, and really wanted to read White Teeth or anything by Rushdie after the movie was over. I did see that this is adapted from a book and nearly picked it up last night at the Borders but couldn't bring myself to do it. What I loved best was that it was a kind movie. It showed poverty and desperation, but it has this sweet soul about it. I highly recommend it.
